Best Place to Download Free Music Online

Hi there everyone! This is my first blog review posting. i recently was looking around for some music to grab and I dug through a bunch of sites. I plan on posting what I found here, especially if they were worth the trouble and the cost, if there was one (most sites require some money to be spent so the artists and the labels get their cut. Nothing too out of the ordinary there...)

Okay, so this site I am going to talk about today is worth checking out. It is the Ultimate Free Downloads site.

Basically, I don't listen to much popular music. I prefer traditional World music, noise, mathematical oriented composition, medieval and Early music, avant garde jazz and classical, et cetera, and those styles are basically hard to find. This site seems to have a good amount of hard to find genres, both major and independent labels. Nice! Of course they have the basic pop stuff, too, and the standard country, classical, and various other commonly found genres.

Some of the draw backs include the fact that you can't browse the titles before you join and start downloading. I didn't like that I almost didn't send the bucks to find out what they offered. The other "drawback" that I expected was that you have to pay to get started. It isn't much, though, and basically you can grab as much as you like once you're in. That makes up for it, really.

I haven't explored these areas yet, but Ultimate Free Downloads also offers videos and games. i am not much of a gamer and I play around on Youtube and Stage6 to find videos, but it looks like they have an extensive selection and things that you may not be able to find on the free sites. Pretty good stuff overall.
